In-Site Dongle driver issues - driver not being recognised

1. Introduction
On occasion when updating to Windows 7 the dongle driver may not be recognised. This knowledgebase article describes how to make your driver recognisable once again to your Windows system.

2. How to fix the driver issue
The cause of the error is due to the driver that is being installed is out of date and not compatible with Windows 7.

To resolve this we need to remove the drivers currently installed.

Please find attached a compressed folder which contains two files. You will require to extract these file into a folder on your computer. Please ensure they are extracted into the same folder.
Once extracted please close all software. Please also ensure the dongle is removed from the PC.
Please then run the Uninstall.bat file. You may receive a user access control message, please accept this to continue.
Once the file has run successfully you will receive a pop box indicating "The Dinkey Dongle drivers have been successfully uninstalled" Please click on 'Ok'
A Terminal window will be visible and will indicate that the computer will require to be restarted. This is very important please ensure this is performed. Press any key to close this window.

Once the old drivers have been removed we can install the new drivers.
Once you computer is restarted Do Not Insert the Dongle. Please navigate back to the folder containing the two files and run 'setupdrv.exe'
Again please accept the user access control message. Please then confirm the installation of the new drivers by selecting "Install"
The window will disappear as if nothing has happened. Following a short pause a window will popup stating "The Dinkey Dongle drivers have been successfully installed" Please click on 'Ok'
Now please insert the dongle. The system will recognise the dongle. Please wait for the green LED on the dongle to illuminate. This can take a few minutes, please be patient.
Once the green light is present the dongle drivers have been registered successfully.
