The test probe is used to check the casing for any obstructions or severe distortions that may cause the Digital Inclinometer Probe to get stuck while taking a survey measurement. The test probe is a low cost alternative that is intended to be sacrificial in the event of an obstruction and prevents the loss of the higher value Digital Inclinometer probe.

The test probe has the exact same dimensions and wheel assemblies as the Digital Inclinometer probe. The probe is made from stainless steel material but has no internal sensors for measurement. The probe is connected to a multi strand galvanized steel cord (approx. 4mm OD), which in turn is wound onto portable reel.
