Removing & Replacing Recon PDA battery


1. Introduction

This article details the steps to take if your Inclinometers Recon PDA will not switch on.

2. Charge the battery

Firstly, ensure the battery has been charged using a supplied recon PDA charger. A full
charge will take approximately 12 hours. After this, if the PDA will not switch on continue to the next step.

3. Replace the battery

Rest the PDA gently on its face. The PDA’s stylus or a flat headed screwdriver will be required (See Figure 1.).

Using the stylus, turn the arrowed latches counter-clockwise until the arrows point towards the bottom of the battery and the I/O ports (See Figure 2.).

With both latches pointing downwards, use your thumbs to push and slide the battery away from the unit (See Figure 3.).

Once the battery is detached, simply reattach the battery. To do this slide the battery down into the unit and firmly slide the battery back into position. The PDA may beep once the battery is in position  (See Figure 4.).

Once the battery is back into position, turn the arrow latches clockwise so they point away from the I/O ports and towards the top of the PDA   (See Figure 5.).

The battery is now reinstalled. Turn the unit over and press the power button. If the unit does still not respond, please submit a ticket through the support site.
